NBPD Mobile Café ~ Community members come together with police in an informal space to discuss community issues
and build relationships.
NBPD divides the city into four separate areas. Each area has an assigned lieutenant, who acts as an area commander. Eastbluff is in Area 3, along with Bonita Canyon, Big Canyon, Newport Center, Harbor Cove, Bayside Village, Island Lagoon, Park Newport, Promontory Point, and Balboa Island. It is home to the Fashion Island shopping center and the surrounding businesses and hotels in Newport Center.

Property crime update November 2024
Newport Notified is the Newport Beach Police Department's alert system for disseminating general and emergency information directly from the Police Department to the community. It is used to notify residents and subscribers about issues impacting safety, such as traffic advisories, crime alerts, and community updates. It is also used for emergency notifications related to power outages, evacuations, tsunamis, and other hazards where public safety is at risk.

Call NBPD immediately when you see something suspicious or when you need the police to respond to a current situation.
RECENT SCAM INCIDENTS
At the end of November, two more reports of victims who each lost over $50,000 after multiple interactions with a scammer who used a Tech Support ruse to convince the victims that they needed to “protect” their money after their computers were “hacked”. READ MORE The suspect convinced his victims to withdraw large amounts of cash, then arranged for the cash to pick up in person (most often at the victims’ home). MORE
Scammers most often try to manipulate your emotions to create a sense of urgency to scare you to make you feel like you need to act immediately. So, whenever a stranger tries to get money or personal information from you, do these three things:
1. Stop. Check it out. Do not give money or personal information to anyone until you have verified the identity of the person you are talking to. For calls from alleged government agencies or utility companies: Ask the caller for their name, department, and business phone number. Confirm that information by calling the organization at a phone number found on the internet or through official correspondence/billing statements. If the caller refuses to provide this information, terminate the call immediately. In personal situations, try to contact the loved one who you are concerned about, or call friends or another family member before you send any money or give out personal information.
2. Keep your information safe. Never give out personal identifying information, such as your social security number, bank account or credit card account numbers, to anyone you do not know.
3. Pass this information on to a friend. Awareness is the best prevention for these types of things.

EASTBLUFF HOMEOWNERS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
NOTICE OF PROPOSED OPERATING RULE CHANGE
In accordance with California Civil Code Section 4360, the Board of Directors hereby provides you at least twenty-eight (28) days’ notice of proposed amendments to the Association’s Elections Rules and Voting Procedures under consideration.
Your review and comments are being requested, as required, before any proposed rule changes are put into effect. The full text of the proposed rule changes can be found HERE. Changes are highlighted.
The proposed amendments are to add to the Association’s Elections Rules provisions regarding electronic voting, election by acclamation, and reduced quorum for adjourned and reconvened annual meetings to elect directors.
The adoption of these Election Rules is intended to make our Association’s Election rules consistent with recent amendments to the Civil Code governing association elections and voting (Civil Code Sections 5100 et. seq.)
Please submit all comments by 5 pm on December 30, 2024.
The proposed Election Rules will be adopted at the January 6, 2025 General Session Board Meeting at 7 pm via Zoom. All comments can be submitted via email to morgan@tpms.net, via fax at 714-619-6738, or via USPS to 1525 East 17th Street, Suite A, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
